DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DOTR)

   

     MOTC has become the main political, planning, scheduling, coordinating, implementing and administrative entity of the executive branch of government in promoting, developing and regulating a reliable and coordinated network of transport and communication systems. Infrastructure projects undertaken during this period include; Light Rail Transport System Computer Controlled Traffic Light System Manila International Airport, renamed Ninoy Aquino International Airport Central Post Office in Makati, Caloocan, Quezon City, and San Juan. And control has been improved with permanent number plate recognition and a staggered registration system. San Juan in this period also the registration and control of motor vehicles was improved with the introduction of permanent number plants a staggered registration system. 

    We all know Department of Transportation (DOTR) has a big part of our lives and one of the most important things in our country.  Without this one, we would be having troubles with our everyday transportation and their will be no safety for everyone who uses public or private transportation. 


    As one of the first government agencies to be established under the Malolos Constitution on January 21, 1899, the DOTr plays a vital role in accelerating the economic development of the country. It forms the backbone for growth and enhances the country's competitive advantage by providing effective and efficient transportation infrastructure systems that reduce the geographical and physical divide and connect the country, its islands, and it's people to the rest of the world. 


    LRT line 2 East Extension Article Main: LRT Line 2 (Metro Manila). When the project is completed, It will reduce the travel time from Recto to Masinag from 3 hour to only 40 minutes. PNR North-South Commuter rail under consturction from New Clark City to Capas, Tarlac to Calamba, Lagoon. The North Line will have a legnth of 106 kilometers from Tubuan in Manila to New Clark City, and is expected to be completed by 2021.


Perez was appointed Minister of Transport and Communications by President Corazon C. was appointed minister of the MOTC, Under Secretary Reyes, the department's quasi-judicial function were transferred to the Land Transport Franchise and Regulatory Agency, which was created by Executive Order No. 202
